Well, this post doesn't really make any sense in a fashion blog ..but I am really disturbed about the current scenario in India about the safety of "US" : We,the women ...
We live in a society filled with perverts , orthodox people blaming the victims themselves to be reason for such an act.
Where do we really stand ?
No woman is safe ! We deck up each day to live our life, to be happy , to look good ... Not to be symbolized as a sex item for these demonic men.
Well, its not safety I am talking about . I am talking about mentality .. today you wear a tight skirt , and u will be told that Girls like Are the soul reason for rapes ! Even if you don't look like a slut , even if you are a 17 or 7 year old kid! Really ? Which world are we living in ? Are we really independent ? Are we really free from the riddance of our mind?
If I dress properly , like a good short dress or anything , which doesn't look inappropriate , my mother would say "you don't stay in New York . Don't dress like this " I mean why ? If I am happily comfortable ,why shouldn't I ?
And then to decrease your comfort , there will be people on the road to stare at you , laugh at you ,pass comments etc etc.
And you will never dare to wear that same dress again .
We buy clothes according to the city we live in .. hahahah . I have heard a mom and daughter conversing while in a shop n this girl was almost 16-17 years old and she wanted to buy a really sexy dress from Kazo but then her mother told her .." This is Kolkata . You can't wear stuffs like this . You will look cheap. Buy clothes you can wear here "
Seriously ?
If people like us ,living in the 21st century say like this , I should consider these potential rapists to be merely illiterate .
To end it , It's truly disturbing to see women being so unsafe . Is there nothing to ensure safety ? We are struggling for world peace where at the same time ,our world is lacking it . We worship goddesses , and in real life we demean them , traumatise them , leave them in a condition where they feel ashamed to be born ..
